Red Demons Stifle Redskins

Liberal did not score in a double header sweep at the hands of the Dodge City Red Demons at Demon Field Thursday.  DCHS won 8-0 and 4-0 over the Redskins for the sweep.  Liberal pitchers walked seven Demons in both games while LHS had a combined six hits and eight errors on the day. 

In game one, the Demons scored three in the first and three in the second in route to the win.  Liberal had four hits and five errors. 

In game two, Stevie Lira pitched four and two-thirds innings and Jared Fox pitched the rest of the game holding Dodge to just three hits but issuing seven walks and LHS committed three errors.  Dodge scored two unearned runs in the first and two more runs in the fifth. 

Liberal falls to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in the WAC while Dodge improves to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the WAC.  Liberal hosts Garden City Saturday at noon for a double header.
