Today is an excellent day to stay at home, road conditions are generally snow packed and icy with some drifting already occurring as of 6:00 am the drifting will get worse as the snow and winds increase, with east west roadways likely to be the worst. Wind chills will be dangerously low, time out doors should be limited.

KDOT, City and County Workers are working to keep roads open for emergency use, all area schools are closed, and many if not all activities scheduled for the next two days are cancelled / postponed.

Off and on during the day snowfall rates of up to 1-2 INCHES/HOUR are possible, Winds will continue and increase during this afternoon. Travel is strongly discouraged.

Some thunder may occur as this storm advances across the county, expect up to 15 inches of snow by the end of the day
