Wednesday is Deadline for International Race
02/10/2010

The deadline is 5 pm this evening to register to run in the adult

Pancake Day races including the International Race. If you are a

woman 18 or older and out of high school and a Liberal resident with domestic duties, you

are eligible. Pancake Day general chair Ken Thompson says winning

the race has its privleges. "We normally have three or four hundred

dollar prize package from the merchants here in Liberal," Thompson

said. "You're not just out running. Even though you should run for

the fun of it. That's what the English people do but we're a little more

commercial than the English people are so we offer the prize."

Entries so far include:

Mikayla Knudsen, age 20

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School student/works at First

Baptist Day Care

Mikayla has competed in the International Race twice before, in 2008 and

2009.

Alison Bridget Chambers, age 25

Drama Instructor, Seward County Community College/Area Technical School

This is her first time to compete.

Heather Grant, age 21

SCCC/ATS bookstore

This is her first time to compete.

Tandilee Fletcher, age 18

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School student/works in

Pharmacy Dept. at Dillon's Grocery

This is her first time to compete.
