The efforts to bring a large cheese factory to Dodge City gets a big boost of support from the state. Dodge City Cheese was awarded $12.6 million in tax-exempt bonds. It's a decision that makes the plant one step closer to reality.
The company holds an option to purchase a vacant building in the city's industrial park and build a new plant on 26 acres of land for cheese production. The company would employ 350 people during the 18 months of construction and 100 people once the plant opens
