The USD 480 Board of Education will meet tonight for a regularly scheduled meeting at the Education Service Center at 7:30 p.m.
The board is expected to finalize and approve a two year contract for Lance Stout to become the next Superintendent at USD 480 beginning on May 28.
The board held a special board meeting on Thursday which was an informational meeting on the new program Literacy First. Dr. Bill Blokker, who is the Founder and President of the Literacy First program was in Liberal and gave an update of the program and answered questions that the board had about its progress. Blokker was optimistic and pleased with the progress Liberal has made so far this year. The program is a step-by-step program that is expected to take three years to fully implement.
Tonight's meeting will air on channel 16.
