Man Dies After Being Stabbed: UPDATE Charges Filed

UPDATE:

A Garden City man is charged with second-degree murder in a fatal stabbing in Dodge City.

The Ford County Attorney's Office on Monday charged 52-year-old Alfredo Gasca-Aldama with reckless second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Jesus Ortiz. Gasca-Aldama is being held on $250,000 bond.

Dodge City police say both men were taken to a hospital Saturday night suffering from stab wounds. Ortiz later died. Gasca-Aldama was arrested after being treated for his wounds.

Police have declined to release information on the circumstances surrounding the stabbings.

A 22-year-old Dodge City man is dead after being stabbed several times this weekend. On Saturday night, Dodge City police were called to Western Plains Hospital to investigate after two people arrived with stab wounds. The victim, 22-year-old Jesus Ortiz, was admitted in critical condition and died. A 52-year-old Garden City man was admitted and then taken into custody for second degree murder. His name is being withheld until he is officially charged in Ford County. Dodge City police say the investigation is continuing.
