Craig Batchman

Meade's girls are getting used to this.  Even after a topsy turvy season which was plagued by sickness and inconsistencies, the result is the same.  Meade makes state for a third straight season after a 75-57 win over Elkhart at Elkhart Saturday and a 56-39 win over Hodgeman County in the semis.

The Lady Buffs are 14-8 are led by senior Kinzie Friesen who averages 14 points and eight rebounds per game.  Sophomore Bailey Olvera averages 10 points per game and sophomore Tarah Wiens scores seven a game.

Coach Craig Batchman is in his fourth season as head coach and has taken his last three Meade teams to state.

Meade is the #8 seed  and plays #1 seed 21-2 Jefferson County North at 3 p.m. Thursday in Manhattan.

#4 20-3 Moundridge meets #5 19-3 Northern Heights at 4:45 and the winners meet Friday at 3.

The #2 seed is 21-2 Smith Center they play 17-6 Sedan at 6:30 and #3 20-3 Sterling faces 18-5 Belleville.
