SWMC Announces New CEO
02/21/2013

The Southwest Medical Center Board of Trustees named Bill Ermann as the CEO and President at the February 14th board meeting. Ermann has served as Interim CEO and President for the past thirteen months and the CFO for the past three years. Ermann will build on the strengths of the existing leadership including VP of Patient Care, Jo Harrison, and VP of Operations, Michele Gillespie, who continue to help establish Southwest Medical Center Hospital as a local health care provider of choice in the Liberal and surrounding areas. “As Chairman of the Board of Trustees, I have observed Bill and the difference he has made at Southwest Medical Center, this was a decision the Board feels will reap benefits for the hospital, as well the community, for years to come,” said Joe Sealey, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Southwest Medical Center. “We are very fortunate to have such a high caliber candidate.” Ermann has more than 15 years of experience in hospital operations, with nine of those years at Southwest Medical Center. In addition to Southwest Medical Center, Ermann has worked in both profit and non-profit hospitals ranging from 75-beds to 500-beds in size. He received his Bachelors of Science in Public Accounting from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. He is a non-practicing CPA, a member of AICPA, HFMA, President of Early Risers Kiwanis and immediate Past-President of LHS Band Boosters. He and his wife Dayna have a son and three daughters from their 21-year marriage. Ermann is familiar with the region’s health care environment and embraces Southwest Medical Center’s uniqueness. “We will continue to build on our strengths such as personalized care and the achievement of high quality and safety standards,” says Ermann. "Our physician, nursing, and other patient care team members at Southwest Medical Center are exceptional.  I am honored to be part of the team at Southwest Medical Center and will remain focused on our continued growth as an organization and our work to provide the community with quality health care choices close to home.”
