Drugs Found On Airplane At Liberal Airport

On January 20, 2010, The Department of Homeland Security notified the Kansas Bureau of Investigation that a suspicious airplane had landed at the Lyddon’s Aero Center in Liberal. Agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation together with the Seward County Sheriff's Office, Liberal Police Department and Beaver County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on the plane and found and undisclosed amount of Cocaine hidden inside. The pilot was located at a local motel and was taken into custody without incident. The pilot a 27 year old male has been charged with one count of possession of Cocaine with intend to sell and one count no Kansas drug tax stamp. The name of the pilot is being withheld pending first appearance in the Seward County District Court.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty and a Court of law.
