LHS Country Showdown Announces Winners

25 contestants competed last night in the 2nd annual LHS Booster Club Country Showdown. At stake were over $3000.00 in cash and prizes and the right to open up for Lyric Street recording artist Bucky Covington, who will play the Maskus Auditorium tonight. A near capacity crowd enjoyed 3 hours entertainment in this audience/judge vote competition that is a fundraiser for the Booster Club. The top 3 for the evening were, in third place was Denasa Rice of Liberal, 2nd went to Matt Holley of Hugoton, and taking top honors was Chelsea Beck of Shattuck OK. Gate admissions brought in @ $3,500.00, while KSCB and the Legend donated their portion of the procceds from the advertising of the event, another $1000.00, to the Booster Club. The Bucky Covington Concert is set for tonight at 8:00pm with the doors opening up at 7:00pm. Tickets are still available at the Crazy House, and if any are left, will be sold at the door.
