Lady Skins Hold on to Defeat McCook

The Liberal Lady Redskins were able to hold on to defeat a winless McCook team 43-37 Thursday afternoon in Colby in the first round of the Orange & Black Classic.

The Lady Skins struggled in the fourth quarter as they were unable to score a field goal. They did make six free throws in the final quarter.

Liberal shot just 26% for the game and 2-15 from the three point line. They did hold McCook to just 30% from the field.

The Lady Skins were led by sophomore Justice Norah who scored 22 points and added nine rebounds. Senior Malyssa Williams was next in line for Liberal scoring seven points with eight rebounds. Senior Kayla Payton added 6 points.

Liberal is now 8-2 overall and will advance on to the winner's bracket where they will play on Friday at 3 p.m. The game can be heard on 1270 AM and kscb.net.
