Saints Limp Across the Finish Line in Win at Colby
01/19/2010

The Saints should the happiest team in the KJCCC right now after winning the ninth straight and improving to a league leading 5-0 in the Jayhawk West. But something is missing according to head coach Bryan Zollinger who has been disatisfied with the way his team has played recently. Seward hit 55 percent of their shots in a 71-57 win at Colby Monday night but Zollinger wants more. "I thought we did a lot of things that were extremely stupid in the second half," the former Atwood coach said after his Saints beat Colby for an 8th straight time. "It seems to me that we are a lot more worried about style and how we look and about being cool than in being solid and fundamental and having that deep down character which can really help you win at the next level of JUCO basketball." Latiq Agard scored 19 of his 23 during the first half of a game SCCC led 43-31 at halftime. Tony Smith had 21 points and five rebounds while Marcus James dropped in 17. The Saints are 15-3 overall and 5-0 in the Jayhawk West while the Trojans fall to 6-13 overall and 0-5 in the Jayhawk West. The Saints host On Point Prep. Wednesday night at 7:30 on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
