FORGAN, OK- The Forgan Bulldogs had three players score in double digits on Friday in the Bulldogs 65-54 victory over arch-rival Beaver.
It was sophomore Rhett Radcliff who led the way scoring 21 including a reverse lay-up at the buzzer. Junior Matt Morris who is from Liberal scored 15, while sophomore Ryan Radcliff added 14.
Forgan jumped out to a 19-12 lead to end the first quarter. The Bulldogs led it 36-27 at halftime.
The game was very physical causing the crowd to be very restless toward the officials. Bulldogs head coach Todd Kerr said teams have to be able to adjust to the officiating night in and night out.
“It is one of those deals where it is always going to be physical. Some nights you are you are going to think it goes your way. Some nights you will think it doesn’t. You have got to be able to adjust and play through things,” Kerr said.
Kerr felt like his team could have played better but to give Beaver credit.
“You always want to be better. I didn’t feel like we played our best game, but give Beaver credit for that.”
Kerr said the rivalry with Beaver is an important game to win.
“All I can say to that is it’s a rivalry game so you know how we feel about that and that is that is important. You can throw everything out when you play them. It reminds me a lot of OU-OSU.”
The victory gave Forgan the season series as they topped Beaver 55-39 back on December 4, 2009 at the Rolla Tournament
Beaver will next play at Turpin on Tuesday night. Forgan remains undefeated and ranked #2 in the state of Oklahoma in Class B. They will host Balko tonight for Homecoming.
