Liberal Blood Donations Down

Blood donors and nationwide and in Liberal are way down. Sherry Helmke of the American Red Cross says Liberal blood donors are in high demand.

"The last few that we've had have been terribly low," Helmke said of blood donors at recent Liberal blood drives.  "It is really sad that we can't get enough people together in Liberal, Kansas or the nation to come out and give blood.  It's so easy.  It doesn't take that much time.  We feed you we are going to have chili on January 24 which is our next blood drive.  Out canteen sponsor is Hay, Rice, and Associates.  Come out and we will help you in any way we can."
Thursday, January 24 is the Liberal Community Blood Drive  from noon to 6 that day at the Western Avenue Church of Christ. Walk ins are welcome but you must bring your ID and there will be a meal provided.  For more information or if you are interested in volunteering,call 624-8411.
