A Guymon man has been charged with two counts of rape for a crime he allegedly committed on December 11, 2009.
Robert D. Petty, 18, of Guymon, is charged with rape in the first degree and rape by instrumentation, both felonies.
According to documents obtained from the Texas County Courthouse, a report in the Guymon Daily Herald, Petty allegedly used force and violence by means of threats of immediate and great bodily harm to a female victim. Petty then, according to the documents, then and there did rape, ravish and carnally know and have sexual intercourse with the victim against her will and consent.
Rape in the first degree is a crime punishable by imprisonment not less than five years to not more than life in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Petty's second count, rape by instrumentation is a crime punishable by imprisonment for not less than one year to not more than 15 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
Petty remains in custody at the Texas County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond.
