Redskins Lose Close Matches in Colby

Liberal went 3-4 but lost three close matches without three of their starters Saturday at the Eagle Invitational in Colby. Without starters Austin Pitts, Devon Davis, and Dalton Moody the Skins narrowly missed a 6-1 weekend. After beating Oakley (51-24) and St. Francis (54-18) but losing to Valley Center (60-18) on Friday the Skins were 1-3 Saturday. Liberal lost to Phillipsburg (43-31), Chaparral (41-31), and Concordia (30-24) but beat Hays (43-30). Adrian Salas (119 pounds) was 7-0 with four falls and a technical fall. Justin McPhail (189 pounds) was 7-0 with three falls. Moises Andrade (171 lbs) was 6-1 with four falls while 112 pounds Dalton Rutledge was also 6-1 with three falls. Carlos Rodriguez (160 lbs) was 5-2 with two falls. Adebayou Braimah (135 lbs) was 4-3 with three falls while 145 pound Enrique Avila was 4-3 with one fall. Liberal travels to Amarillo for the Tascosa quad Friday and Saturday.
