LHS Opens Home Season with Conestoga Classic
12/11/2009

Thanks to sponsors, organizers, and volunteers the Conestoga Energy Classic give LHS two more home games Friday and Saturday. LHS opens their home season against the Hereford Whitefaces. Liberal sophomore guard Justice Norah says the Lady Red is ready. "We've got good teamates," Norah said as she gets ready for her first varsity home game. "We get along together. We've got a good coach. If it wasn't for the team I don't think we would make it." The 2-1 Lady Skins play Hereford Friday night at 6 PM with a matchup against Dumas Saturday at 4 PM. The Redskin boys game will follow both evenings. Head coach Drew Gruver says his 2-1 Redskins are thankful for the opportunity to host this event. "It's nice to be able to host a classic and be able to have a couple more home games," Gruver said. "We really do appreciate the support from the community and everyone who helps out to make this go." Liberal will play 10 of their final 17 regular season games in Liberal. They play a Hereford team tonight assisted by former Tyrone athlete and coach James Bell. Redskin Pre-game begins tonight at 5:45 on Talkradio 1270. Saturday's coverage begins at 3:45 on Talkradio 1270.
