The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission has conditionally certified the Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City for a possible opening next week.
The casino could open Dec. 15 if the state approves two controlled demonstration days at the facility. which will be held tomorrow and Dec. 14.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. on Dec. 16 featuring Gov. Mark Parkinson and other officials.
If the casino opens on Dec. 15, it would close that evening and re-open after the ceremony, said Sharon Stroburg, Boot Hill’s marketing director.
The racing and gaming commission has approved the casino’s internal control systems, security and surveillance plans, slots and table game rules and procedures, and its responsible gaming plan.
