The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday night at the Education Service Center for a regularly scheduled meeting.

The board approved the consent agenda which includes an LHS Overnight Trip, a gift, and surplus property.

New business action items that were approved included LHS teacher Caleb Cline permission to continue an adult woodworking class for another semester, certified employment, and classified employment/resignations/transfers.

LHS Principal Keith Adams also gave a report stating that he has made a decision to keep graduation on a Sunday at 3 p.m. and to keep it in the gym with each graduate receiving 10 tickets.

Board members Tammy Sutherland-Abbott and Reid Petty were not happy about the decision since a student survey conducted by Adams showed that around 80% of the seniors wanted to graduate at Redskin Field.

Adams said he made an executive decision on the matter since there was confusion with the vote as to what day the students preferred.

The board will next meet on January 4, 2010.
