Redskin Wrestlers Place Fourth at Rio Rancho

After a 5-0 start, LHS lost three straight duals at Rio Rancho in Albuquerque for a fourth place finish at the Southwest Shootout this weekend. After a 4-0 Friday, the Skins out-dualed Tascosa 51-24 Saturday but lost to Moriarity 42-30, Cherry Creek 44-33, and Rio Rancho 54-24. Liberal's Justin McPhail at 189 and Adebayo Braimah at 135 both went 7-1. Moises Andrade at 171 pounds was 6-1. Heavyweight Akile Powdrill and 125 pound Adrian Salas brought home 6-2 records. Devon Davis at 215 and Isaac Gallegos at 140 were 5-3. Dalton Rutledge was 5-4 at 119. LHS goes to Colby to compete Friday and Saturday. LHS head coach Mike Pewthers now has 104 dual wins at LHS.
