Kansas farmers made slow progress in
harvest activities this past week.
Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service reported Monday that 89
percent of the corn crop has been harvested. The report says 90
percent of the soybean crop and 79 percent of the sorghum crop are
also in the bin.
Meanwhile, farmers have planted 96 percent of the 2010 winter
wheat crop. Those with the most fields left to plant are in
southeastern Kansas. About 88 percent of the crop has been planted
in that region.
