Holmes Appointed to National Energy Task Force
11/30/2009

Kansas State Representative Carl Holmes

The president of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), Senator Don Balfour (Georgia) announces the appointment of Rep. Carl Dean Holmes (Liberal) to a new task force to address pertinent energy issues. The Energy Supply Task Force will be comprised of legislators with experience analyzing aspects of energy supply and transmission in the United States, as well as the interrelationship of energy sources.

Senator Balfour said, “I appoint Rep. Holmes due to his vast knowledge and leadership concerning national energy issues.”

The task force will meet throughout the next year to discuss energy issues and issue a final report at the 2010 Legislative summit next summer.

Rep. Holmes said, “It is an honor to be selected to another national task force concerning energy issues during this time of decisions which will affect the future of the United States energy supply for decades. I appreciate the opportunity my constituents grant me to continue work on national energy issues.”

Representative Holmes also serves on numerous national committees and chairs the National Conference of State Legislatures Advisory Council on Energy, which studies and develops new energy information for use by state governments nationwide.
