LHS Students Celebrate Standard of Excellence Designation
10/18/2012

The “Senior Olympics” are coming to LiberalHigh School.  On October 19, 2012, there will be a reward activity for the senior class for meeting the “Standard of Excellence” on state assessments last year. This is the only time since the inception of the No Child Left Behind Act that LHS has met this goal.

In order to reward this cohort group of students for their achievement, the LHS school improvement team has planned a series of events during the morning of the 19th that we are referring to as the “Senior Olympics.” The day will kick off with the seniors in the auditorium for an opening ceremony and recognition for the level of achievement that students had. This will be followed by various competitions between teams of students in several events that will take place at Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex. These events will conclude with the awarding of prizes for the winners of each competition. Additionally, the seniors will eat lunch at the east concession area that will be served by school personnel. After the lunch period students will remain at Redskin Field for the homecoming pep assembly, which is open to the public.

The LHS school improvement team would like to thank Billy’s Blue Duck BBQ, Best Market, Leader and Times, and Subway for donating items for this event.
