Liberal Shooting Update
11/24/2009

On November 23, 2009 at about 1:29 p.m., officers arrested a 34 year old male at the 1900 block of Country Estates in connection with this case. Investigating officers were conducting surveillance on a residence in the 900 block South Pennsylvania and witnessed the suspect leave the area in a vehicle. He was taken into custody during a subsequent traffic stop without incident.

An affidavit will be forwarded to the County Attorney for filing formal charges. The man is being held for attempted 1st degree murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated assault. The second suspect remains unidentified and is still at large.

The investigation of this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Liberal Police Department at 626-0150 or the Crime Hotline at 624-4000 if you wish to remain anonymous. Persons providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible are eligible for a reward.
