Lady Saints Foil Frank Phillips

Seward used a strong second half to beat previously undefeated Frank Phillips 80-56 Saturday night in the Green House. SCCC is 6-0. Seward outscored the Lady Plainsmen (8-1) 26-14 the last 11 minutes of the game. Head coach Toby Wynn says that's what he's looking for. "We talked about tempo during the shootaround being the most important thing and trying to play fast, Wynn said. "We wanted to win the last 10 minutes of the game and I felt like we really dominated that portion of the game." Seward, who had struggled from three point range all seaon hit five of 11 three pointers. Rachel Barnes scored 23 points with 12 rebounds and six assists. Megan Lassley added 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Vaneza Junior added 17 points. The Lady Saints are 6-0 after two strong performances against Clarendon and Frank Phillips in the Billy's-Days Inn Classic. Seward plays New Mexico Junior College Friday at 1:30 in Garden City and #8 Western Nebraska Saturday at 1:30 PM in Garden City.
