LHS Golfers Stuggle in Garden City
09/11/2012

The LHS girls golf team  went to the Garden City Invitational at Buffalo Dunes on Monday and head coach Kody Thexton says the day was a struggle.

"We were very unfortunate in the scoring today.  Our best score was Jamie Brond with a 107, which is not a bad score at all for the 18 hole event, it was a personal best for that matter but our best sometimes isn't enough.  Evan Sumner carded a 111 who struggled most of the day, i was happy she didn't give up and kept grinding.  Riley Jones carded a 123, she was having some problems going straight but toughed it out for her score.  Rounding out the scoring was Courtney Widener with a 151.
This is a tough course in itself, but when we throw in some inexperience it get more difficult.  Evan was very disappointing with her score but she is a competitor and will come back strong from this."

Abbi Shaddik from Garden city won the event with a 78 and Garden won the tournament with a 365.
Next tournament will be Sept 20th at Willow tree in Liberal.
