There's No Place Like Liberal
10/12/2009

Margaret Pellegrini talks on Live From Broadcast Square with host Joe Denoyer.

History returned Saturday in Liberal. One of the Munchkins from the original Wizard of Oz move Margaret Pellegrini returned to Liberal for Oz Fest Saturday. It marks here first trip to Liberal in five years due to a stroke. Pelligrini says she even amazes herself. "Thank God I could make it and I'm here," Pellegrini said. "I didn't think I would make it but I'm here." Pellegrini lives in Arizona and is one of five Munchkins alive. The Munchkins still travel due to the popularity of the movie. Pellegrini says we're all off to see the wizard in our everyday lives. "The Wizard is of Oz is not only for kids and grownups it's for everybody," Pellegrini said. "Because the Wizard of Oz has a great meaning. The meaning is courage, love and heart, and brains. We can all have brains if we use them."

Although the cold weatehr dampened some of the Oz Fest activities, Pellegrini's return reminds us why there really is no place like Liberal during Oz Fest.
