A Day in the Sun with the Bee Jays
06/16/2012

Liberal's boys (and girls) of summer joined together Saturday.  The Liberal Bee Jays hosted a free youth baseball clinic for boys and girls in the area Saturday morning.  About 164 kids turned out for the event after about 125 showed up last year.  All of the BJ players and coaches conducted the two hour clinic.

After the clinic, a line of young autograph seekers wrapped around Epic PCS at the Coronado Plaza in north Liberal.  It was the biggest turnout for the Epic PCS signing party in recent years as the line extended well into the parking lot.  Epic PCS staff  served hot dogs, water, and baseballs for the players and coaches to sign.

Saturday night, the BJ's host the Derby Twins at 7 p.m. at Brent Gould Field.  Liberal Parks and Recreation ball teams will run the bases during the game.
