The two teams have split eight games this year. Southwestern Heights won round one at Heights, but Liberal wins round two at the 'Big House.' Liberal beat the Mustangs in the final (14-25, 25-22, 25-23). Liberal knocked off Dodge City in the semifinals (25-15, 25-10). Liberal won all their matches in pool one beating Scott City (25-14, 25-16), Colby (27-25, 25-18), Hugoton (25-22, 25-12), and Sublette (25-7, 25-15). Katie Burnett won the MVP award with 52 kills, nine aces, 18 blocks, and 19 digs. Caitlin Bauer added 22 kills, 10 aces, and 55 assists. Ashlyn Westerman registered 35 kills, 51 assists, nine blocks, and 10 assists. Riley Hay had 12 digs. Emily Bayouth had 13 kills and 11 blocks. Makiah Adams had six kills and three blocks. The 16-2 Skin spikers go to Pratt Tuesday to face Pratt a 4:00 pm and Belle Plain at 5:00 pm.
