09/04/2009

The Kismet Lions Club will be hosting the Kismet Little Worlds Fair this weekend. This marks the 90th year the event has taken place in Kismet Kansas. Events are slated to start on Saturday with a carnival, street dance and the Little Worlds Fair Queen contest. On Sunday several events will take place including worship services, a sand volleyball tournament, Taste of Kismet, a turtle treasure hunt and a bicycle cross country poker run. On Monday, Labor Day, the day is filled with activities starting off with breakfast, a 5K and 10K run, Oldtimers registration and a parade. A mainstay of the Little Worlds Fair is always the free ham and bean feed, followed by friendly competitions of wheel chair races, slatting, bed, turtle, bike, trike, and stick horse races and a frozen T-shirt pull. The evening will wrap up with a comedy and magic show featuring The Magic of Christopher Starr. For more information on the Little Worlds Fair call 620-563-7645.
