Texting And Emailing For Help Available In Guymon And Texas County
08/05/2009

The citizens of Guymon and Texas County have a new way to contact 911 when they need help and that is by texting or emailing to the dispatch center. Anyone wishing to report a crime or are in need of help and can’t talk can simply add the following address to their phone or email address book and send a message that will go straight to a 911 operator. The address is 911@guymonok.org.

As of right now this will let you send us a message but it won’t give the exact location so that information will need to include that in the message

The way it will work is the message will be delivered to the Guymon Police Department which houses the 911 equipment but if it is for Texas County the information will be routed to their personnel.

With cell phones quickly replacing landline phones in people’s lives agencies across the United States have to expand their way of doing business to accommodate the public and provide the services that are needed.
