07/29/2009

A Liberal man was found guilty of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under the age of 14 on Tuesday.

Wesley Warren the defendent was first reported by the SRS when they recieved a call from an anonymous caller who said Wesley's four year old granddaugter had told her mother that her grandfather had exposed himself to her.

Warren was then interviewed by the Liberal Police Department and at first denied it but then admitted the exposure was due to an issue with his pajama pants.

In a second interview this time with the Kansas Bureau of Investigations Warren admitted to intentionally exposing himself. He repeated that theme to the Liberal Police Department in a second interview with them on April 15 of this year. Warren was then charged and arrested after his second interview with the LPD.

Jennifer Chaffee represented Warren and her case focused on potential coericon by local law enforcement in getting Warren to admit his acts were intentional. The jury disagreed though finding Warren guily in just under two hours of deliberation.

Judge Clint Peterson will make a ruling on the sentencing for Wesley at a later date.
