Mid-America Air Museum To Honor Veterans

The Mid-America Air Museum in Liberal has scheduled Veteran’s Day Appreciation for Nov. 11.

The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m. catered by Meisenheimer’s Barbecue.

The program, scheduled for the General Welch Theater, begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes special music by Janie Kitch and Steve Leete; posting of the colors by the Liberal National Guard; Col. Doug Jacobs (Ret.), Command Historian with the Kansas National Guard Museum in Topeka; and Major Gerald French (Ret.), 1941 graduate of Liberal High School. Major French was the youngest B-24 pilot, logging 50 missions in one five-month period alone, from January 1944 through D-Day, June 6, 1944.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the museum of from any museum volunteer.
