Meade County Crash Injures Meade Man

Brock Kappelmann - April 25, 2017 6:04 am

A crash south of Meade sent a Meade man to the hospital Monday evening.  The crash occurred about seven miles south of Meade on K23 at U Road.  The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 31 year old Jame Loren Coles was driving an F150 pickup south on K23 preparing to turn left.  When he started to turn onto U road, an unknown vehicle passed him on the left side at a high rate of speed.  Coles then jerked the car back right, then turned left again and was struck on the drivers door by a Dodge pickup.  Both pickups came to rest in the ditch in the southeast corner of the intersection.  Coles was injured and taken to Meade District Hospital.  He was not wearing a seat belt.
