Lt. Governor Coming To Western Kansas To Discuss Medicaid

KSCB News - June 14, 2011 8:00 am

Kansas Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer is scheduling
three public forums to discuss methods for the state to reform its
Medicaid system.
Colyer, a physician, will host the meetings June 22 in Topeka,
July 7 in Wichita and July 8 in Dodge City.
Gov. Sam Brownback has asked Colyer to head efforts by the
administration to find ways to provide Medicaid services while
reducing the costs to the state and improving the delivery of
services.
Colyer leads a working group that includes the secretaries of
aging and the Kansas Health Policy Authority and Social and
Rehabilitation Services.
The lieutenant governor says he wants input from Kansas
communities about the challenges in delivering health care to
Medicaid recipients and ways organizations can partner for a better
system.
