Liberal Wins Wichita South Opener

The Liberal girls soccer team is off to a 2-0 start after defeating Campus 2-1 Monday afternoon in round one of the Wichita South Titan Classic. It’s Liberal’s first ever round one win in that tournament. The Campus Colts scored first and led 1-0 at the half. But Liberal’s Jasmine Chacon scored off of her own shot and a goalkeeper deflection to tie the game. Maria Nunez scored off of a goalkeeper deflection to take the lead. LHS is 2-0 and plays Winfield who defeated Emporia 7-0. LHS had 10 shots on goal and Magali Vazquez had four saves.
