Liberal Staves Off Orange and Black Attack

KSCB News - September 16, 2009 12:00 am

Liberal beat three orange and black teams to win their 36th match in a row at home Tuesday. Liberal beat Colby in the afternoon matchup (22-25, 25-10, 25-13). The Skins dominated Guymon (25-9, 25-10). Liberal defeated Ulysses (25-19, 25-11). Liberal’s Katie Burnett says LHS takes pride in winning at home. “I love playing here at the ‘Big House’ because it pumps up our team,” Burnett said. “It’s our home crowd, it’s our gym. We haven’t lost here in three years. You don’t want to be the first team to screw it up so that gives us extra push to come through.”

Ulysses beat Guymon (15-25, 25-21, 25-16). Colby defeated Ulysses (25-17, 25-22). Guymon topped Colby (25-23, 25-15). Liberal is 10-2 and hosts their tournament Saturday.
