Liberal Police Searching for Teenage Purse Snatcher

On Wednesday, February 29 th , at about 5:17 p.m., a 64 year old female reported that an unknown black male pushed her to the ground and snatched her purse while she was walking in the 1300 block of Forrest. The woman was not injured.

The suspect was further described as being about 18 years old and having a slender build. He was about 5’11" tall and had a light complexion. His hair was cut short. He did not have any facial hair. The suspect was wearing black tennis shoes, blue or black shorts and a dark colored shirt.

After taking the purse, the suspect ran east toward the area of WesKan Apartments. The suspect remains at large.

Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to call the Liberal Police Department at 626-0150 or the Crime Hotline at 624-4000. Persons providing information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for this crime may be eligible for a reward.
