Liberal City Commission Meets, Hears Lagoon Update

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting. After hearing Mayor Seigrist read a statement of resignation from Commissioner Varnes, (see additional story), the Commission heard from concerned citizens, accepted a donation, the heard an update and approved the concept  concerning the Lagoon cleanup.

The Commisson approved the purchase of 3 Positive Pressure Battery Powered Fans for the Fire Dept., utilizing grant funds in the amount of $12,150.

Also utilizing donated funds, the Commission approved the purchase of 9 frisbee golf baskets for a total of $2560.

The Commission also approved the purchase of a Drug Incinerator and soft uniforms for the Police Dept. With the funds to come from the Diversion Fund.

The City Commission also approved moving forward with the LEAP (League Executive/Administrative Position) search for a City Manager.
