Liberal City Commission Meets

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30pm in the City Commission Chambers. Among the items on the agenda the Commission approved modifications to the building that houses the recently acquired Airport snow plow. The building entrance had to be enlarged to fit the truck and plow inside. Cox Construction of Liberal received the project at a cost of $16,874.00. The Commissioners also heard a report from Police Chief Sill about the ongoing talks and negotiations the LPD has been having with USD 480 regarding an officer in the schools. Once the details have been worked out, this item will be back before the Commission for a formal vote. Also at the meeting, Rae Blain, owner of The Last Tangle, was appointed to the Liberal Housing Authority Board to fill the unexpired term of Lisa Olsen. The next regular meeting of the Liberal City Commission will be December 12th.
