LHS Softball Opens with a Sweep at Ulysses

Liberal’s softball team opened with two wins at Ulysses Tuesday afternoon and evening winning 11-10 and 17-13.

In game one, Liberal built a 10-0 lead into the fifth before Ulysses struck for eight runs to climb back into the game. Riley Hay was 2-4 with four runs and Kaitlyn Ralston scored four runs. Jaycee Darroch pitched four and one-third innings allowing six runs before Brittney Granger came on in relief.

In game two, Darroch came on in relief and pitched six and two-thirds allowing five runs. Hay was 3-4 with four runs and Amanda Love was 2-3 with a triple and three RBI’s.

Liberal’s JV split at Ulysses winning 20-8 but losing 14-13.

Liberal hosts Hugoton Thursday at 4 p.m.
