LHS Girls Tennis Team Battles Strong Winds in Scott City

KSCB News - September 24, 2013 6:28 am

The Lady Redskins battled the high winds as much as they did their opponents. This tournament was shortened due to inclement weather. Individuals from LHS completed play, but the team honors will be sent tomorrow. From my last look, Colby, Ulysses and Tribune were battling for team honors. Competing teams included 2 teams from Scott City, Tribune, Colby, Ulysses, Liberal, and Garden City.

Individual results:

#1 Singles–Stephanie Sanchez went 3-1 on the day and finished 2nd Place.

#2 Singles–Tierra Stoney once again tied for 1st in her pool, but finished 3rd place overall due to a lower win/loss percentage.

#1 Doubles–Jordyn Apsley/Marina Arenivas went 1-2

#2 Doubles–Kylie Evans/Marissa Rodriguez went 1-2.

Liberal travels to Garden City on Saturday.
