LHS Girls Open Season with Win at Dodge City

Liberal’s opening girls soccer game at Dodge City Memorial Stadium resulted in a  very physical and tough win. LHS won 1-0 Tuesday evening.
Goal came early in the first half at the 5 minute mark.
Sr.  Kim Alarcon headed a ball to Sr. Gisselle Melendez who received and went in to the 18 yard  box for a 1 on 1 against the DC goal keeper putting the ball in with a left foot shot.

Coach Carlos Ruiz comments:

“We continued to play well in to the first half and created more scoring opportunities.
First time for this program to win at Dodge City.”
Both varsity and JV teams win 1-0.
