LHS Girls More Competitive at Garden City

KSCB News - September 30, 2013 7:35 am

he Lady Redskins traveled to Garden City on Saturday to compete in a girls’ varsity tennis tournament that last lasted nine hours and included fourteen teams: Maize South, Wichita West, Pratt Great Bend, Dodge City , Scott City , Colby, Cimarron , Ulysses, Meade Hays, and two Garden City teams. I shuffled the line ups for the doubles team to generate a spark. Even thought the results were the same, our girls did compete better. Tierra Stoney, #2 Singles continues to improve knocking off opponents whom she lost to earlier this season. She upset players from Dodge City and Hays on her way to 5th Place , Stoney went 3-2 on the day. Stephanie Sanchez #1 Singles competed hard finishing 2-2 for the tournament. #1 Doubles–Jordyn Apsley and Marissa Rodriguez went 1-3, and #2 Doubles Kylie Evans and Marina Arenivas went 0-4. The Lady Skins travel to McPherson on Saturday.
