A 44-year-old western Kansas man has been bound over for trial in the death of his former wife.

Todd Schumacher of Leoti was bound over for trial Friday after a preliminary hearing in Leoti District Court. He’s charged with first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated child endangerment in the March shooting death of Ann Schumacher.

Todd Schumacher was arrested after turning himself in to authorities after the shooting. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 7.

The Garden City Telegram reports that the couple was involved in a custody battle.
