Lady Saints Defense Stifles Colby

The Lady Saint offense continues to struggle but the defense rose to the occasion Wednesday night in the Colby Community Building. Seward won their 12th straight over Colby 64-44 holding Colby to under 24 percent shooting while Seward shot just 30 percent. Seward has shot 27%, 29%, and 30% the past three games.

Seward led 29-22 at halftime. The Lady Saints forced 23 Colby to 23 turnovers while Seward only had eight turnovers. Seward was 6-23 from three point range.

Anete Kirsteine had 16 and Ashlynn Knoll had 11 points and six rebounds. The Lady Saints are 19-4 overall and 8-2 in the Jayhawk West while Colby falls to 7-17 overall and 3-7 in the Jayhawk West.

Seward hosts Pratt for homecoming Saturday night at 6 p.m. on B107.5 and kscbnews.net. Pizza Hut is the buyout sponsor.
