Kansas Class 4A To Split Into Two Divisions

More state champions will be crowned in Kansas high school athletics next year.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association announced that 4A schools have voted to split their classification into two divisions. The vote was 44 -22.

In the 2012-2013 school year, Class 4A had 64 schools with enrollment ranging from 729 to 258.

Softball, basketball, baseball and volleyball will play in the two divisions next season. Football will go to the split divisions in 2014.
