SSS Education Specialist

Responsibilities
Position develops, schedules and facilitates a variety of workshops. Provides individual counseling on financial literacy; scholarships and financial aid. Will assist students in career exploration and resume preparations. Employment based on College's academic calendar during the grant year. Part-time 10 month position, 20 hours per week.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Leadership or related field.
Two years to five years teaching experience preferred. Experience in developing and implementing presentations. Familiarity with Financial Literacy and Career Counseling. Background similar to SSS participants and fluency in Spanish a plus. Understanding of low-income students with academic barriers.

Selection Process
The search committee will conduct all minimum qualification appraisals as set forth on the position announcement and job description and reserve the right to limit the number of interviews granted. Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the applicant an interview. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified of the time and place of the interview. Interviews are usually conducted on campus by the search committee. Additional interviews and/or teaching demonstrations may be required.
