Seward County Community College/Area Technical School is a comprehensive institution which places primary emphasis on excellence in classroom instruction and is currently seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to instruct classes in the automotive program, as assigned. Related courses may be taught depending on education and experience. The typical teaching load is 30 credit hours per academic semester.
Responsibilities include preparation, teaching and conducting laboratory courses as assigned including but not limited to development of syllabi; facilitating student learning in classroom and lab settings, recruiting, advising, tutoring and evaluating students. Teaching assignments may include some evenings.
A minimum of two years full time employment as a automotive technician required, with ASE Automobile Technician certification preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in career and technical education or related field with 18 credit hours in automotive technology preferred. Willing to complete degree and/or ASE certification can be conditional to be condition to employment. Preference given to those holding a Master’s Degree or previous teaching experience in a community or technical college or secondary education preferred.

Must be able to learn and use Banner System (integrated database system)
Must be able to see details at a close range
Work is performed primarily indoors often in climate controlled environment
Work is performed near or with moving mechanical parts
Short periods of limited exposure to non-hazardous levels of fumes or airborne particles
Applicant must be eligible to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship.
