Jeremy Jones KJCCC’s Top Player Last Week

KSCB News - January 26, 2011 2:36 pm

The KJCCC has announced that Seward County guard Jeremy
Jones is the Verizon Wireless Player of the Week for his performances in
a pair of wins for the Saints last week. The sophomore from Chicago,
Illinois averaged 23 points and 3 assists per game in a pair of Seward
wins over Cloud County and Dodge City. On Monday in a big conference
matchup in Concordia against the T-Birds, Jones scored 28 points
including 7 three-pointers, just one shy of tying the school record, and
also had 4 steals in leading the Saints to an 80-57 blowout win. On
Saturday against Dodge City Jones helped the Saints breeze to a 92-65
win with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists to keep Seward on top of
the Jayhawk West standings. Jones has now led the Saints in scoring in
four straight and 7 of their last 8 games overall. Jones will look to
keep up his streak Wednesday in Garden City when the Saints hit the
Perryman Center to take on the Broncbusters at 7:30. (Roy Allen)
